The possibility of the US Dollar index staying relatively strong for the rest of the year is something I'm anticipating. Especially because the USD Index is comprised mostly of the dollar vs the euro. So continuing problems in the Eurozone will weaken their currency, making the dollar look good.

The problem is the dollar is still weakening, in a slick kind of way. Gold, silver, oil, and other commodities are all gaining upside momentum while the dollar index is hovering around 81, giving us the illusion of dollar strength.

It would not suprise me if the dollar stays above 74 for the rest of the year and oil rallies to $95-100 later in the year. CNBC's Rick Santelli is calling for $4 gas and $150 crude oil THIS SUMMER. I see that happening early 2011, but he could be right.

The dollar's days are quickly coming to an end so Euro weakness is a good way for the money masters to mask a dollar devaluation!

  1. Jay, I first picked up on this story which will interest you. See the April 3 one.

You will probably find the 2nd and 3rd of the three links fascinating, and that 2nd link looks like the kind of blog you'd appreciate.

It's all kind of over my head, though, but I get the gist of it.

  2. Yes KIT that was a BIG BIG BIG story in the markets/world except here in our MSM as usual but yea the whistle blower testified to the Commodities Futures Trading Commission. Guess what happened the next day:

"Andrew Maguire, a metals trader at the London Bullion Market Association, and his wife were traveling in their car when a second car coming out of a side street struck their vehicle. That car then hit two more vehicles before fleeing.

London cops using helicopters and patrol cars chased the hit-and-run driver before nabbing that person, whose name has not been released by authorities.

Maguire and his wife were released from the hospital yesterday. London police would not comment on the accident investigation. (Source)"

I first learned about this from here

  3. Yeah, I read about that! Maguire must be looking over his shoulder 50 times a day.

I think "they" are going to keep trying to patch up the hole in this dam. It will be interesting in a very tragic way if they succeed.
