"Dr. Donda West, author, manager and mother to Grammy-award winning Kanye West, died early Sunday morning in Los Angeles. While the cause of death for the retired English professor was not known at press time, what is known is what a devastating effect her passing is to have her son. Dr. West was mentioned in several of Kanye’s songs, including his tribute to her, “Hey Mama,” from 2005’s Late Registration."
